Where is Livorno
After an early rise and a very comfortable and warm night, we became aware of the fact, that we were not in Livorno but in La Spezia, which is 100 km north of Livorno, due to stormy weather and traffic chaos. This must have been an organizational nightmare for the cruise organizers but at least to our knowledge at the moment, they really worked miracles. They redirected all the tours, organized boat transfer (yes we were not anchoring in the harbor) and provided everyone with train time schedules. Thus prepared we now could admire the rescue boats, which are actually very comfortable (a lot has changed since the Titanic).
The minute we put our feet on solid soil at La Spezia heaven opened its gate and it rained cats and dogs and we stumbled almost 45 minutes soaken wet to the train station where we boarded the train to Pisa.
We were finally meeting my friend B who is married in Italy with 2 adorable children. I think it was the third time we were in Pisa, but we never manage to see the Tower. But it was fun (the weather in Pisa adorable) and it seemed of course too short as always.
After our ride back we were rewarded with a most spectacular view of La Spezia surroundings.
