We are ready - but is the plot ready

You are looking at size 47 (13) and 45 (10.5)  rubber boots that we bought the other week - we are now prepared for our garden project - at least we can now walk through mud in our little garden plot.

On May 1st we will see our plot of roughly 1000 sq ft that by then will already boost with seedlings and plants - hard to imagine that that will happen within 30 days - as this is what the place looks like right now...

2013 - our year in the garden

... and we are back.

our last post was back in 2009 - our 'big adventure' - the first cruise.

Well 2013 means another adventure is about to start. This week we attended our first meeting in an icy cold barn in Rudow. Maybe 60 people where there to listen to Benni and Wanda what they had to tell us in regards to the little plot of land that we will be able to use until the end of October and grow vegetables and some flowers.

This is a joint venture of ourselves and our neighbors. We will be given a plot of about 900 sq.ft on May 1st - there will a number of other plots available - water and tools are provided - all we need to do is make sure that the plants grow, that the weed dies and that we harvest everything in time.

Already in 2012 I thought about this - Jens wasn't too keen on it because the plot I looked at was about five miles away in Schönefeld - and it would take about 30 minutes by bike to get there - well Jens found another farmer that is doing this - basically around there corner - only 1.5 miles down the road - about ten minutes by bike.
